I like to walk around Moscow. I collected a lot of photos of Moscow city and I would like to show you my Moscow.

My first photo-post I dedicate to Mr. Pavel Tretyakov (Tretjak, Tretjakov). He was a founder of famous Tretyakovsky Gallery (Tretyakovskaya Gallery, Tretjakovsky, Tretyak Gallery). Tretyakovskaya Gallery in Moscow

Tretjak ovsky gallery occupies a former house of merchant Tretjakov who in 18th century had collected numerous pieces of art. Tretjak's initial collection became a base for the

Moscow's most famous art museum. 1904 Vasnetsov had developed the house's new facade a la russe. Vasnetsov had chosen Russian fairy tales as the references for design, which give this house an atmosphere a magical castle right from the fairy tales. Russian Fairyland In 2006 National Tretjak's Gallery of Art celebrated its 150th anniversary. It was in 1856 that Paul Tretjak, a young merchant, had bought his first pieces of art and thus started a new collection which later on will become the biggest art collection in the whole

Russia. Those two pieces of art were "Temptation" by Shilder and "Finish contrabandists" by Hudjakov. Both artists were unknown to general public. Tretjakov was at that time 28, most likely he had little idea of what kind of art collection he would like to have, and those two purchases were rather spontaneous. However, this momentary whim had turned into a mission of his whole life: to collect contemporary art of talented Russian artists from 18-19 centuries. Moreover, many artists own their fame and general recognition to the fact that their art was bought by Tretjak for his collection and their art was exhibited in Tretjakovsky gallery.
